MUSCLE SPASMS π«
They happen to all of us at some point.
Maybe your body gives you a warning, maybe it doesn't. But all the sudden, BAM, π₯ you're hit with a sudden seizing, aching, pain making you feel like you can't move your body.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
So what the heck is a muscle spasm? π€
ππ» A muscle spasm usually occurs when unfamiliar/new/sudden or constant/recurring/unrelenting stress is being placed on part of a muscle.
ππ» Contractile units within the muscle become "stuck" in an "on"' position which doesn't allow the muscle to relax. Muscles are intended to contract AND relax. The muscle becomes stressed and pain chemicals are released into the bloodstream due to lack of oxygen flow to the muscle.
ππ» Other factors like diet and hydration can make a muscle more susceptible to cramping.
So what's the best way to treat a muscle spasm? ππ»
Usual treatment to a muscle cramp or spasm includes:

ππ» Massage
ππ» Heat/ice
ππ» Stretching
ππ» Gradual reuse and progressive strengthening

π§ The amount of water needed each day varies from person to person, depending on how active they are, how much they sweat, and so on.
There is no fixed amount of water that must be consumed daily, but there is general agreement on what a healthy fluid intake is.
According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the average recommended daily intake of water from both food and drink is:
π§ For men: Around 3.7 liters or 125 ounces
π§ For women: Around 2.7 liters or 91 ounces
A study carried out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2013 analyzed data from the National Cancer Instituteβs 2007 Food Attitudes and Behaviors SurveyTrusted Source.
Out of a sample of 3,397 adults, the researchers found:
π§ 7 percent of adults reported no daily consumption of drinking water
π§ 36 percent of adults reported drinking 1-3 cups of drinking water a day
π§ 35 percent of adults reported drinking 4-7 cups of drinking water a day
π§ 22 percent of adults reported drinking 8 cups or more a day
