Dreaming of summer... but the porch flowers sure do lift my spirits. The green cymbidium orchid is in full bloom!

Constructing the fairy houses is serious business! The girls all learned how to use drills and other tools to put the houses together.

We have been having a wonderful summer so far. The fairy week program has been a lot of fun and the kids love it. The kids built fairy houses, baked fairy cakes, made fairy crowns and purses and played fairy games. At the end of the week we showcased our work with a fairy house tour for family and friends.

Metal punch. We've been doing this since 1980 and the kids are still loving it. Ah, the joyful sound of many hammers and nails all at once. :)

Yummy mummy calzones for Halloween.

On Columbus day we made Halloween Gingerbread houses.

Today the students made baskets out of six paper bags. They cut them into strips, folded and machine stitched them, and then wove them together. They turned out great!
