Buffalo had some amazing visitors from Bosnia 🇧🇦 come to UB to learn about entrepreneurship over the last week! Dan had the privilege to speak during a presentation to them and one of the students was so intrigued he came to visit Tresca HQ! 😁

Haris Salkić is a young mechanical engineer with a passion for the world of entrepreneurship. He is a gifted engineer with a ton of enthusiasm for learning. Haris asked to spend some time with our engineers and we couldn't be happier that he came to visit! We look forward to seeing him grow on his entrepreneurial journey ⚡⚡

Bike The City - Engineering in Buffalo Buffalo is full of awesome engineering projects! Brand new bike paths are just one of the amazing engineering projects here!

Our team just had our Q4 offsite with a breakfast presentation at Panorama On Seven 🥞 followed by axe throwing at Hatchet & Hops! 🪓🪓

The team had an awesome time at both while Grey kicked everyone's butts at axe throwing to become office champion! 🏆 She could not be stopped!! 👑

Tresca had the awesome privilege of hosting UB ASME for a tour of our office and workshop! These young engineers are going to creating new technology soon and we were excited to speak to them about the types of projects we work on everyday! 😁

3 More Ancient Technologies We Don’t Understand Engineers of the past still stump the engineers of today! There are technologies created long ago that we have not worked out yet.

Our very own Rebecca Grey is an amazing baker and cake decorator! 🍰 😁

This week she brought some of her delicious cakes in the office and even branded one with the Tresca logo! Our engineers are good at more than just engineering!

Duct tape is an engineer’s best friend ➿ Use the right tool for the job of course, but when the right tool isn’t there, duct tape is a great bet! People trust the tape to keep their car held together all the way to duct taping their shoes. But how was it invented?

Duct tape began as a WW2 invention by the United States 🇺🇸 We needed a strong, waterproof solution to keep ammunition cases dry. J&J was able to modify medical tape and came up with a tape that was very strong but easily tearable. It was also waterproof so it reminded soldiers of a duck’s waxy feathers. That’s where the brand name comes from! 🦆

After the war, the tape had no plans of going away. The housing market boomed once the war was over and soldiers took construction jobs back at home 🏗️ They eventually used the tape on heating & cooling ducts which enabled manufacturers to put silver on one side to match the ducts and then everyone started calling it duct tape! A solution EVERYONE is familiar with. 😁
