Occupy Amherst
Occupy Amherst provides a forum for residents of Amherst and the surrounding area to voice issues and discuss solutions.
Occupy Amherst is a local movement in support of Occupy Wall Street, one of many springing up across the country in solidarity with the protesters on Liberty Square. We will hold weekly General Assemblies in the common on:
Wednesdays 5pm
Sundays 12pm
See you all there!
Happy One Year Anniversary of Occupy Amherst!

COME BEFORE THE ORGANIZING MEETING AT 2!! MY NUMBER IS 870 615 3926 IF YOU NEED IT!
So the plan for Sunday, as decided at the General Assembly, is this:
11:30-11:45: Anyone who wants to help set up, plus facilitators, arrive at Commons and begin set-up. This will include a sign-making station, snacks and water, and a resource sharing and info on organizations station. Any other ideas?
12:00: Folks start arriving, and myself, Ben Bull, perhaps some others? will give a history of what has happened so far, very briefly. We will begin mic-check/speak out where hopefully reps of local campaigns/loud passionate people/shy passionate people/everyone will stand up and shout out! Anyone else who wants to facilitate is more than welcome to help with this! We will also keep an eye on time, and the energy in the crowd.
12:45: end speak out, facilitators will lead some chants
1: group activity! We'll play a string game that will get everyone involved.
Around 1:45 or 2:00, we'll call it a day!
