The Town of Maynard is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Laborer/Skilled Laborer. Responsible for manual work in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of roads, bridges, grounds, systems and facilities; performs heavy lifting in the pick-up of debris and performs general maintenance work.
Utilizes both hand tools and power equipment to complete assigned tasks. Performs manual work in the installation and clearing of pipes, patching or resurfacing of roads, removal of trees, leaves, brush, trash or refuse and in the installation or replacement of fences, posts, rails, or signs. During operation, observes performance of equipment and reports malfunction to Supervisor. Cleans and maintains equipment, facilities and grounds.
Requires Valid Driver’s License and US DOT Physical Card or equivalent as per Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. CDL & Hoisting licensure preferred, but will train.
Compensation: Laborer/Skilled Laborer starting pay $20.80 - $25.25 per hour, 40-hour work week. Position includes a 90-day probationary period and requires working some weekends and on-call responsibilities. Position is available immediately.

The Town of Monterey has an immediate opening for the position of Transfer Station Attendant. Qualified candidates shall have a good work record and must be available to work weekends. This position is part time on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am – 1pm, Sundays 10am – 6pm in the summer and 10am – 4:30pm in the winter. The Town of Monterey is an equal opportunity employer. The UMTC OJT/SS Program is assisting a Pre-Apprenticeship Program Graduate from Diman Regional Vocational Technical School that is available for an internship for up to eight weeks. The student is 18 years old, lives in Swansea and has transportation. He has plowing, asphalt, concrete, drainage and landscaping experience. Upon completion of a four week internship, the candidate will qualify for scholarships to receive CDL Class B and Hoisting licenses.
The UMTC OJT/SS Program will reimburse the municipality up to fifteen dollars per hour for up to eight weeks for up to forty hours per week. We have successfully placed students in DPWs across the Commonwealth and can supply references.
