Our class has been working collaboratively to bring a visual and interactive element to our translation of the Brazilian picture book, "Chapeuzinho Amarelo".

This immersive experience has taught the students of PORT 397 about the complexities of translation, and the different techniques one can incorporate when adapting an original work to the new target language.

Be sure to visit the link in our bio to secure your spot at tomorrow’s performance at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art this Saturday at 11:00am!

In a bilingual storytelling session, we are faced with the challenge of having to decide which cultural and linguistic elements of the original work we want to incorporate into the performance.

For our presentation of the translated work, "Chapeuzinho Amarelo", we chose to incorporate the Portuguese word for fear - medo!

Want to see how Chapeuzinho overcomes her medicare? Join us tomorrow, Saturday April 30th at 11:00am, at the Eric Carle Museum!
