On July 29, 2023, held the Relief and Appointment ceremony where Sergeant Major Juan Gavilanes, relinquished his position as Recruiting Station Springfield Sergeant Major, to Sergeant Major Michael Perrault.

The Marines of RS Springfield wish Sergeant Major Gavilanes the best as he turns to the next chapter of his life along with his family, while also looking forward to the leadership, guidance, and wisdom that Sergeant Major Perrault will provide to the Marines as they continue to find America's best and brightest 🇺🇸

OST Amherst participated as a guest lecturer for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Western New England University, providing subject matter expertise on military culture, to include OT provider engagement with the community, health seeking behavior of service members and veterans. Discussing my own rehab from shoulder surgery and leveraging providers to come off limited duty 3 months early while discussing the career opportunities for DPT professionals.

Mini OCS prep weekend begins!
Opening comments from our own Capt Blundo, and the Recruiting Station Commanding Officer takes it on the left foot. It is very likely that one of these Officer candidates will be giving a similar speech as the recruiter and Commanding Officer in the future.

Candidates ranging from newly contracted and awaiting the selection board to those who have OCS completed and waiting to commission upon graduating in May. Another beautiful day at Norwich mentoring and developing the next generation of Marine Officers.

Awesome day to be the Amherst Officer Selection Team! Shoutout to Candidate Contrael a previous candidate who sustained an injury at OCS remains undeterred in earning a commission as a Marine Officer. This is the resilience and determination we expect out of our future leaders.
