📣UMASS STUDENTS: As a public policy grad student and candidate for Amherst Town Council, I’m hoping that students will attend the student led debate on Monday at 6:30pm on UMass campus in the CHC events hall. Student voices matter and I hope to see as many of you there as possible! ❤️

to my very first campaign season in 2021 out in the community with my daughter, handing out lawn signs and talking with neighbors about the kind of Amherst we want to build together. ❤️
Sometimes people don’t always see how policies and the language we use in government connect to real-life experiences on the ground and how those decisions show up in people’s everyday lives. That’s part of why I’m running for re-election. ✨
I’ve lived in Amherst my entire life, I have three children in our public schools, and as a graduate student studying public policy at UMass, I bring both lived and learned experience to this role.
🌷Our Town Council should reflect the true diversity of our community in race, age, income, and family structure. As a single parent, I understand the challenges many families face here. Over the past four years, I’ve shown up across Amherst from Village Park to Rolling Green (and if you’re old school, from North Village to Southpoint) listening, learning, and amplifying the voices of my constituents.
It’s been an honor to serve our community and I’m grateful for your vote on November 4th so I can continue doing this work with and for you. 🗳️

🌱 On Indigenous People’s Day, I co-facilitated the Cambridge HEART Retreat: a powerful day grounded in collective healing, accountability, and community visioning. During our time together, we asked difficult questions about the organization’s future given the current social, political, and economic climate. One thing was clear—the Cambridge community wants, needs, and deserves HEART.
🌟This work connects deeply to my work in Amherst: as Co-Chair of the Community Safety Working Group (CSWG), and as a member of the CRESS Implementation Team. The CSWG led the courageous recommendation to create CRESS (Community Responders for Equity, Safety & Service)—an unarmed responder model rooted in trauma-informed, anti-racist frameworks that can respond to low-level, non-violent calls and connect people to services.
It’s not enough to imagine community-care or reinvestment as theory: we must practice it in real spaces, in real towns, with real people.
Let’s keep building toward community care, transformative accountability, and futures where safety is rooted in justice, dignity, and care.❤️

I’m honored to be supported in a new Amherst Indy opinion piece by Julian Hynes, a young Amherst resident who calls for investing in schools, infrastructure, and affordable housing - and argues that voters should choose me (and Allegra Clark) for Town Council. 🌟
🌱 Having voices like this in our public conversation is exactly why I do this work: to serve everyone, to listen, and to act with integrity. Just like it’s essential to hear the voices of students and young people in our political discourse, it’s critical to have parents and renters on our Town Council.
Thank you Julian and all of you who believe in this vision. 🫶🏽

Opinion: To Invest in Roads, Schools, and Affordable Housing, Walker and Clark are the Right Choice for At-Large Town Council - Amherst Indy During our third Town Council Election since adopting a new form of government in 2018, Amherst is facing many new opportunities, as well as a few challenges. We are seeking leaders who will guide us through these times with social justice, climate action, and financial responsibility in mind. In my...
