-All athletes must be a member of USA Field Hockey for insurance purposes ($25 for ages 11 & under, $60 for ages 12+)

*Additionally, we may offer extra GK and field player specialty skill training during the 2:00-3:00 pm time block on these Sundays (for an added cost).

*We are working on organizing playdays with other clubs during the 2-6pm time slot on these Sundays at UMASS where we will be able to compete against other teams (U12-U19). The exact dates and opportunities are still TBD. We are hoping to secure 2 to 3 of these, but it will all depend on other clubs’ availability and interest. Stay tuned for more. These would be included in the program fee. If we are able to sign up and attend any other local tournaments not at UMASS, we will poll for interest and availability and there would be an added fee to attend.

2021 WMASS HKY Summer Program (UPDATED AGE GROUP/DAYS!)

*Note: we switched the age group days to accommodate the Summer League being played on Wednesday night at South Hadley HS- U16/U19 are now Mondays

The brand new WMASS HKY Club is excited to get started with a weekly training program this summer. The 10-week summer program will be held on water-based AstroTurf at the UMASS Gladchuk Sports Complex, the official home of UMASS Field Hockey. The 1 ½ hour sessions will include age-appropriate skill and tactical development, and small game play. There will be goalkeeper training. All athletes will receive a WMASS HKY reversible jersey. We will begin a more formal and comprehensive club program starting in the Fall, where we will train and attend tournaments and showcases at each age group (Fall, Winter & Spring/Summer).

*Due to NCAA rules, all WMASS HKY club players must reside within a 50-mile “as the crow flies” radius of the University of Massachusetts or WMASS HKY must be the closest available training opportunity for the athlete should they reside outside the 50-mile radius.

Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm: U10, U12, U14 (U10 is Grade 3+ as of Fall 2021)

WMASS HKY is hopeful to start our new comprehensive club field hockey program beginning in the Summer of 2021! Programs will be offered for the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19 age groups. Outdoor training will take place at the University of Massachusetts on water-based AstroTurf at the Gladchuck Sports Complex and indoor training is expected to take place at Smith College in Northampton. http://wmasshky.com

UPDATE (March 3, 2021): Due to Covid-19, UMASS is still not allowing outside groups on campus at this time. As soon as this is lifted, we will begin WMASS HKY in some form. We hope to begin with weekly training this summer and then pick up with our comprehensive club and youth offering in the Fall!

WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHTS - WMASS HKY Highlights from week one of WMASS Virtual Training!

WMASS HKY is excited to announce the launch of our new virtual program! In response to the challenges we currently face due to COVID-19, our staff has designed a comprehensive, virtual program to keep your skills and fitness sharp during the summer months. It is also a great time improve your game by utilizing our world-class WMASS HKY coaching staff who will provide feedback throughout the program. Field player and goalkeeping-specific options are available!

The virtual program runs from June 1st – August 3rd!

Standard Program – $120 for 8 weeks ($15/Session)
Utilizes the CoachNow App – included in this program:
*1 x new skill per week
*1 x new technique per week
*2 x individual feedback per week via CoachNow App
*Weekly fitness program

Elite Program – $200 for 8 weeks ($25/Session)
Utilizes the CoachNow App – included in this program:
*1 x new skill per week

*Weekly fitness program
*1 x personal zoom call for 30 minutes per week

Important Training Night Update:

We have decided to change our club training night to accommodate interest. A lot of players were interested in playing WMASS HKY, but had conflicts with Tuesday nights. We have decided to change training to Sundays.

U8, U10 Mini Minutes Program is still the same: Tuesdays 5:30-6:45- first session Tues March 24

Club Training Night is now Sundays:
U12, U14: 4:00-5:30 pm
U16, U19: 5:30-7:15 pm

First session: Sunday, March 29th
*Sunday, March 29th will also be the Spring Player Trial

Tuesdays and Thursdays we will offer additional programs (GK training, fitness training, skills sessions)- some will be included, some will be for an extra fee. We have added 2 free add-on sessions to be included in your fee. We've also added the UMASS 7v7 Spring Cup May 2nd to be included in your fee.
