Slow and steady… finishes the class in 10 months that was meant to be 10 weeks. I’m right where I should be in the maiwa print and paint with natural dyes… month 6. 😅 loving it.

Making our way to Cedar Rapids this Saturday! We are setting up a special showing of the Interactive Migration Tapestry at the Iowa Pop Art Festival.

A decade in the WIP pile. Today is the day I finish this quilt! Originally I was going to make bias tape from the red fabric with white dots in the blocks, but there wasn’t enough.

Now today, I was unpacking the last few boxes from our move this summer, and it turns out a I have a whole collection of bias tape! Including these two great gems.

Found this little gem at a thrift shop yesterday! 🥰 a “Mending Machine” aka a mini sewing machine that’s fully functional for basic straight stitching.

My 10yo kiddo has been wanting to learn to sew but is intimidated by my antique beast machine that could sew right through her hand (she helped me fix it up last year). Can’t wait to walk her through her first project on it… the lovely pillow project!

Also, I’m in love with my new bone folder. I made it from a walnut off cut and lots o sanding and danish oil.
