🌟 Volunteer Spotlight 🌟
We’re so thankful for Marissa! She joins us at the women’s house twice a month and is always willing to jump in, whether she’s helping with life skills classes, a special activity, or just spending time with the young ladies.
Marissa has such a fun personality and a love for the Lord. Everyone enjoys spending time with her.
Thank you, Marissa, for sharing your time, kindness, and heart. We appreciate you! ❤️

Tomorrow, we’ll welcome another young man to Anchored Hope. With his move-in, both homes will be full.
We’re so thankful these homes are providing a safe and supportive place for young adults who have spent time in foster care as they work toward independence. This milestone is also a reminder of how great the need is. We already have a waiting list, and we’re grateful for everyone who continues to make this possible.
Please join us in praying for this young man as he begins this new chapter.

Home isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a place to rest, laugh, connect, and feel safe. 💙 It’s the simple moments like these that help make a house feel like home. Thank you to everyone who helps make these moments possible.

We engaged all five senses during our latest BEEF 101 culinary workshop!
Jules - Culinary Instructor/FCS for Marshalltown led participants in grilling the juiciest hamburger covering everything from seasonings and shaping to grilling techniques! Grilling corn on the cob to perfection! We put our taste buds to the test by comparing corn grilled with the husk on versus husk off.
Amber shared her design skills, leading the residents in creating floral arrangements and artfully setting the table to create a beautiful ambiance for our shared meal. Oh the sweet smell of homemade rhubarb crisp!
Lara led participants in baking a delicious rhubarb crisp—all while teaching valuable cooking, nutrition, and healthy living skills. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Farm Credit Services of America for supporting our Roots of Hope – Community Garden and Culinary Workshops through your generous grant. Your investment helps bring community partners together to empower young women (ages 18–24) who have aged out of Iowa’s foster care system with hands-on agriculture experiences, nutrition education, and culinary skills that nourish both confidence and independence.
Together, we’re growing more than gardens—we’re growing hope, healthy habits, and brighter futures.

Every week, we receive calls from caseworkers and young adults looking for safe, supportive housing after foster care.
Your support provides more than a place to live - it provides mentorship, life skills, community, and hope for the future.
