7 years ago when my world changed, forever.

What I could not imagine, was that it was going to become So Much better.

First, diluted coat of varnish has been applied by spraying..
Since it was diluted, Im hoping it will dry in 12 hours, with enough time to allow a thicker blend to build up some thickness and dry for the final coat in 24 — 36 hours.
First photo is before varnish for comparison.

The transition board or threshold is coming along nicely.
All sides are a custom color to blend colors of the oak flooring and the baseboards.

A notch has been cut on the underside of the kitchen tile edge. The groove cut to match the tongue on the oak floor.

A single brushed coat of marine varnish has dried on the underside. A sprayed marine varnish of at least 3 coats will now be applied to the top. Each coat will take at least 24 hours to dry before adding the next.

Wall outlet and light switch covers, and the screw heads are being spray painted with appliance epoxy paint to accent the splashboard tile.

Working to get the last piece of the baseboard puzzle completed; the threshold between the tiled floor and the tongue-and-grooved oak flooring in the dining room.
A new oak board needed a groove cut into the edge to accept the tongue of the closest flooring board.
Of all the possible solutions, I chose my 100+ year old Stanley #45 Combination plane.

Six rough sawn Basswood boards, bought at a bargain price.
As soon as the floor molding is back in place, a new Carving project will commence: a Bellamy style Eagle.
