Prairie Bloom Farm
Prairie Bloom Farm provides certified organic fruits and vegetables for Ames and Franklin Township.
Our small sustainable farm offers fresh produce at our on farm country store, for our CSA members, and Farmer's Market customers.
Alluvial Brewing Company will be taking over the farm building in early 2015, equipped with a full tasting room. Please like us below!

CSA shares are available.
As mentioned previously, we've decided to take this year off from the Ames Main Street Farmers' Market to concentrate on a permaculture infrastructure at the farm. We still have CSA shares available so please let us know if you're interested in our Certified Organic produce and would like to join!
This week we've started transplanting 28 Bur Oak trees into 'Zone 1' of the farm in hopes to bring the Oak Savanna back to Ames. We'll keep you posted on the progress of the farm in the coming months.
Our Bur Oaks are still quite small but hopefully they will end up looking like this in some time!
"Oak Savanna" is arguably the most rare and least understood of Iowa's major ecosystems, though it once comprised an estimated 10% of our vast, native landscape. -- Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation

School's out for summer and it's time for the farm to get into full swing. This year we are concentrating on a permaculture infrastructure at the farm. Complete with walking paths, sculptures and seating. We envision the farm becoming a place for the community to enjoy.
So, we decided not to do the farmer's market, but we still have CSA shares available. This will start the first week of June. Let us know if you are interested!
