SHOW SPOTLIGHT: Orchestra Manhattan — a newly formed ensemble of top musicians from across the New York–New Jersey area, conducted by internationally acclaimed maestro Gerard Schwarz. 🎶🎻⭐

Coming March 4, the majestic sounds of Orchestra Manhattan, featuring young musical prodigy Amelia Ly, will fill Stephens Auditorium. Conductor Gerard Schwarz is known for his emotionally compelling performances, innovative programming, and dedication to music education. Amelia Mi Ly, age eleven, is a rapidly rising American pianist from Nashville, Tennessee, whose early achievements and artistic maturity have positioned her as one of the most promising young performers of her generation worldwide.

SHOW SPOTLIGHT: The Doo W*p Project — America’s premier group dedicated to preserving and expanding the beloved sound of Doo W*p! 🎅🎤🎁

Coming December 3, The Doo W*p Project will fill the Stephens stage with the sounds of classic Doo W*p hits and contemporary songs with a Doo W*p twist. Featuring Broadway stars from Jersey Boys, Motown, Beautiful, and Hairspray, this acclaimed supergroup has reached audiences nationwide with a hit PBS special, five albums, and more than a decade of sold-out shows across the country and around the world. Inspired by legendary groups like The Del Vikings, The Marcels, The Tymes, and The Four Seasons, they bring the classic harmonies of street-corner Doo W*p to life on stage.

Clifford Y. Stephens generously donated one million dollars all those years ago to construct our beautiful performing arts auditorium for one purpose: He felt passionately that a person’s first great need was the opportunity to get an education and believed all students should have an opportunity to develop an appreciation for the fine arts, which he considered necessary for adequate living.

Every year since, we honor his dream by bringing talented performing arts acts from around the world to the Ames area and sharing the love of the arts not only with ISU students but with the whole community.
