Help us welcome Michael Martin to Story Construction! Michael will be joining us as a project manager, bringing with him more than a decade of experience leading construction projects in central Iowa. He's a University of Northern Iowa grad and in 2025 he received his Master Builder Designation from Master Builders of Iowa.

We're looking to fill project assistant roles at both our Ames and Sioux CIty offices! This entry-level role is vital to our projects - you'll be working alongside our project managers to provide administrative support and serve as a liaison between Story Construction, subcontractors, and suppliers. We’re seeking organized, detail-oriented individuals who are interested in the construction industry and excited to grow with Story Construction as employee-owners!

Another intern turned full-timer! Colin Hansen worked with Story over the last few summers as a construction worker and then as an engineering intern. We're happy to have him join the Story team full-time. Congrats, Colin!

Help us welcome Tanner Fjelstad to the Story Construction team! Tanner joins our design team as a project architect, supporting a variety of design-build projects currently underway as a licensed architect. He hails from Lake Mills, IA, lives in Ames with his family, and was particularly drawn to the potential our ESOP program provides him as a young professional in the industry.

We had a blast celebrating our annual shareholder meetings and share price reveal for our teams in Ames and Sioux City. This one marked an important milestone, with this year being the first time the folks in our Sioux City division received shares after joining the company at the beginning of 2025.

We take great pride in being a 100% employee-owned company and want to thank each of our employee-owners for their hard work that has led Story Construction to where we are today. Until next year!

Full-timer alert! Gabe Hadwiger spent the last two summers as an engineering intern at Story, and we're excited to share that he joined the company full time as a project engineer after graduating from Iowa State University in May. Story Construction internships provide meaningful and varied experience in the industry and allow us to build relationships with students like Gabe.
