Ames High Fall Cheer

Congratulations to senior cheerleader Ally Phillips for earning a $1,000 ICCA Academic Scholarship. Only 2 recipients were selected from applicants across the entire state. The application process required collecting multiple letters of recommendation, writing an essay on how cheerleading has impacted her life, and meeting the GPA requirement of 3.5 or above. We are so proud of Ally for being recognized for her outstanding academic achievement and for being an exemplary member of the Ames cheer squad!

It’s Fall Cheer Tryout week at Ames High! First practice is tonight!!

Our 3 seniors (Neve Sprecher, Sarah Higgins, and Ally Phillips) representing Ames at Honor Squad today! They will be performing at halftime of the 10 AM and 1 PM state championship football games! Their halftime shows will be televised for the first time ever! Check it out on PBS!

Last night Ames competed at the ICCA State Championships! We competed in 4 categories using 34 cheerleaders!! Of these 34, 27 had never competed before. All teams had their best performances of the year and coaches are so very proud of their hard work!

🏆 5th place in 4A All-Girl Stunt (out of 21)
🖤 7th place in 4A All-Girl Stunt (out of 21)
🧡 7th place in 4A Game Time Spirit (out of 16)

It’s state cheer week Little Cyclones!!! Come cheer for your fave squad this Saturday at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines!

Friday, October 24th is SENIOR NIGHT! Come celebrate our 12 senior cheerleaders with senior recognition on the track at 6:50pm and kick off of the varsity football game at 7:30pm!

Congratulations to two of our senior cheerleaders: Edyn Cowles and Isabelle Stagg who were selected for the 2026 ICCA All-State Squad. Over 170 athletes tried out and only 25 were chosen!

This marks Edyn’s second time on the team and Isabelle Stagg is the first cheerleader in Ames High history to be on All-State 4x!!
