I finished up my Spring Season with "The Ladies of the Lake" Retreat. I get invited by groups to do annual (or Biannual) cleanings at their retreats. Thank you to all the groups! It was a fun season and I really appreciate all your business and referrals.

Spring and Fall are pretty busy. But for now, I will not be taking "my show on the road" until July. Have no fear!! I will not be getting slow and lazy. This crazy lady's life is still going to be BUSY! I have a quilt retreat of my own to go to where I get to sew, laugh and have a great time. I also have a fun family get together coming up. And a vacation with the hubby is on the calendar....yes, a sewing machine travels with us. In fact, I am not sure that I am ever away from a sewing machine. Oh dear......is that a problem? Do I need professional help?

The Assistant is back to work. She assisted the CEO with determining if the incoming machines all had their power cords and foot controls.

This machine was locked up tight. Started checking the usual causes and found it at the second one. Thread wrapped around the take-up lever.

Steve and I attended the Adoray Volunteer Appreciation dinner today. What a fun event!! There were so many fun and lovely people. So humbling being around so many people who give so much.

I stood in line with the guys and a few women (we were definitely out numbered) for Clear Lake True Value to open this morning. It was their Milwaukee sale and I had my eye on the Packout gear for hauling my retreat tools in.

I knew what I wanted because I had scoped it out for 2 days. Then it was just a matter of getting those dawdling men out of my way so I could grab my pieces and get out of there. Stay out of the way of a woman on a mission!! I arrived at the store 5 minutes before they opened and by 20 minutes after....I was heading out of town.

The Assistant is out of commission for a couple weeks (spayed). She hates the E-collar!! So I made her a softer one that won't hurt so bad when she runs into the door frame or chair leg.

I did have to laugh at myself. The last 6 weeks have been pretty busy and no sewing for me. I was putting the finishing touches on the collar when I realized I was sewing one handed. I had the foot control on the desk and was operating it with my hand which is how I operate customer machines when I am working on them.
