How is the real estate market in Utah? Here’s the latest stats for September. The market picked up significantly in September after a very slow summer. I had 7 listings that were super slow moving for months and once September hit, buyers confidence increased significantly and yesterday, I just sold the last of all seven!
I still hear many buyers telling me they want to wait until interest rates come down to buy a home. Many people have this mindset, so what is going to happen when rates do come down is the market will be flooded with buyers looking at the same time, competing for homes, which will push prices higher and sellers willingness to help with buyers closing costs will be gone because they don’t have to. Look now while the market is still a little bit slower, you can take your time and find what you want, many sellers are still willing to negotiate on price and closing costs and when rates do come down, refinance and you have the same rate everybody else does without the insane competition! ”You date the rate but marry the house”.
