My favorite part of yoga is that a pose can be adjusted to be accessible to all. The most advanced yogi is not the person standing on their head but the person taking a pause in a child’s pose or using props to adjust the pose for their body.

Yoga Nidra translated from Sanskrit means yogic sleep. This yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, induced by a guided meditation. The guided meditation will shift awareness from our external world to the inner world and allow a state of deep sleep where the senses, intellect, and mind relax. It is an incredibly healing practice that allows the body to be highly relaxed while the mind is tranquil but alert.
Some of the benefits of Yoga Nidra include:
-Calms the mind
-Relaxes and rejuvenates the body
-Activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest)
-Reduces fatigue
-Helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure
-Strengthens immunity
-Improves quality of sleep

Restorative Yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease to facilitate relaxation and health. Restorative Yoga is about opening, the props allow you to stay within your limits allowing you to hack your nervous system.
