The official answer is “Right of Christian Initiation for Adults”.

But it is so much more.

I have said to many catechumens and candidates through the years that the closer you get to your Rite of Initiation, the more Satan will put obstacles in the way trying to get you to question your choice to become a child of God.

With the corona virus, the closing of school, churches, gatherings of any kind, the Devil pulled out all his tricks this year, but.......

You did it. Had the Rite of Election this evening at the Penetecost Vigil mass. Congratulations to Beau Hargrave, Isabella Martinez, Sarah Ramirez and Ariana Lopez were baptized, confirmed and had their first communion. Joseph Ochoa was confirmed and had his first commion as well.

God is good all the time.....

In this difficult time, it is important that we celebrate the joyful happenings that surround us. Even though our catechumens will have to wait a few weeks later than usual to receive the sacraments of initiation into our wonderful Catholic family, let’s rejoice for them and keep them in our prayers.

May God continue to bless them on their faith journey and watch over them. We ask this in Jesus’ Holy name, Amen.
