BIG NEWS AMARILLO! 🦊🐍🕷️❤️

We’re so excited to announce we’re opening Critter Worx at Westgate Mall in Amarillo!

This will be a hands-on educational animal space where families can safely meet and learn about amazing animals like snakes, lizards, spiders, tortoises, guinea pigs, and our fennec fox Ellie 🐾

We’re currently in the final steps of getting ready to open in about 2 months, but we need a little community help to make it happen. We’re raising $3,000 to help build habitats, set up educational spaces, and cover opening costs.

Every donation—no matter the size—truly helps bring this dream to life. And if you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much ❤️

As the fire situation continues in and around Canyon, TX, we want the community to know that Ready Set Rescue is available to help with emergency temporary housing for animals impacted by evacuations.

We currently have:
• Open reptile enclosures on standby with proper heating and care available
• Space available for reptiles and other small exotics
• Room available to temporarily house cats
• Very limited emergency space for dogs, but we can help with a few on a case-by-case basis

If you or someone you know needs emergency placement for animals during evacuations, please message us directly as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to help keep animals safe during this situation.

Please only reach out if you genuinely need emergency assistance so we can prioritize families actively affected by the fire.

These adorable kittens are around 3 months old and ready to find loving homes! They are fully weaned and eating both dry and wet food great. They are playful, sweet, and full of personality.

✅️ They will come with their first round of shots.

It’s been just over a year since we brought Ellie home (April 3rd), and seeing where she is now compared to where she started is honestly unbelievable.

When we got her, she was only about 5 months old and living in a tiny cage that was less than 2x2. She was in rough shape — mange, a skin infection, missing fur, bald ears… and she had no reason to trust anyone.

Now, a year later…

We’ve just upgraded her from a 10x4 enclosure into a much bigger, custom-built 12x6 space — and it’s not even finished yet. This is her permanent home, built just for her.

But the best part isn’t even the size of the enclosure — it’s her.

She’s healthy. She’s thriving. She trusts us. She’s playful, curious, and completely different from the fox we brought home a year ago.

Seeing her stretched out, relaxed, and comfortable in a space she deserves… that’s everything.

This isn’t just an enclosure upgrade — it’s a reminder of how far she’s come.

From a tiny cage and terrible condition… to safe, spoiled, and thriving 🧡

🦊 Fun fact: Fennec foxes are the smallest fox species in the world, but they require a surprising amount of space, enrichment, and care to truly thrive.

Living proof that doing absolutely nothing can still look impressive 🐢😎

Fun fact: Because turtles are cold-blooded, they rely on outside heat sources like the sun or a basking lamp to warm up and function properly.

Rosie and Ruby are sisters, and while we aren’t 100% sure on their breed, we believe they may be a terrier mix.
