Addiction Counselor
I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 20 years experience working in this field. I have been clean and sober since then.
This site is not about money, I just thought I might could help people on facebook with questions about alcohol and drug abuse. I have about 60 years experience dealing with alcohol and other drugs. I used and abused alcohol and every other drug known until September the 26th 1984. If you are an alcoholic/addict remaining abstinent is a very hard thing to do. It takes a lot of work on your part to
41 years today.
Alcohol is a drug. It is the worst drug of them all. I had a friend try to convince me yesterday that Pot is worse. I always thought that it was okay to drink in moderation. Which I never did so I had to quit completely 41 years ago next month. They have now decided that no amount is ok. It is very harmful to your health in any amount.
Any comments on this?
Well, I passed 40 years last September. Who would have ever thought. The first five years no one thought I would stay sober. My family, my friends, everyone that knew me. I have a lot of knowledge about the use, abuse, and addiction to most of the drugs. I never smoked crack because it had not been invented yet when I got clean. I have kept my license up for over 30 years now and worked at being a counselor for 15 years full time in many different settings. In patient, out patient, in the prisons, til I finally retired in the parole office. What's the number one symptom of addiction? Denial and it's not a river in Egypt.
Alcohol is a drug. Not only that it is the worst, the most harmful in so many ways.
One is too many, a thousand is not enough.
Still here. Sober 38 years next month.

Excellent Fast. ✌️❤️🥰
I just recently celebrated 37 years. When I was new in the program I went to a speaker meeting and this guy said he had been sober for 20 years. I said "no way" could a real alcoholic like myself go 20 years without drinking. Well now I know it is possible. I am still a licensed counselor, still try to help people when I can.
I'm still here. Just haven't taken the time to work on this page. If you ask me a question about addiction and I see it I will be happy to answer it.
