Ready to declutter your finances? Here are five tips to spring clean your budget.
1. Conduct your own expense audit. Go through the last one to three months of expenses and locate potential wasteful spending.
2. Cancel or reduce subscriptions. Ask yourself if there are any you can downgrade.
3. Set spending caps. Set limits on a few categories – like eating out, shopping or coffee runs – to remain flexible.
4. Map out irregular expenses. Put money aside for things like car repairs, gifts, home maintenance and travel to prepare for the future.
5. Set one budget goal per month. Examples include reducing food delivery by $80, paying off a bill or building an emergency cushion.
