Come get sweet corn! Thanks to the generosity of the Cleavinger family YOU can come get fresh sweet corn straight from the farm for the third year running.

Here’s the rules:

Pick some, give some.

Pick some for yourself, pick some to share with someone who needs it.

Pick only what you need so there is enough to go around and nothing goes to waste.

If you can, please take a second to make a donation to support feeding our community. https://givebutter.com/mi2harvest

DIRECTIONS:
4 miles south of Wildorado on HY 809 turn east and off the dirt road.
Check out the video for instructions!

Please only pick the sweet corn (it’s the short stuff!) as the other in the field is cow corn and tastes awful!!!

A big thank you to Chick-fil-A — Gem Lake Road! 🙏

We’re honored to welcome Chick-fil-A on Gem Lake Road as the newest community supporter of our Youth Empowerment Opportunity program. Their generosity is a direct investment in the young people of the Texas Panhandle, in their growth, their confidence, and their future.

“There is a fundamental difference between education that informs and education that transforms.”

Thank you for choosing to be part of that transformation. Grateful doesn’t quite cover it. 💙

What happens when you invest in one leader? You impact an entire community.

One of the greatest privileges at Square Mile Community Development is watching people take a dream, combine it with determination, and create something that changes lives.

That's exactly what happened with Eli Pakarvan, one of our PATH entrepreneurs.

Through Square Mile's economic development program, PATH (Personalized, Accessible, Targeted, and Holistic), we've had the opportunity to walk alongside Eli as she developed Martha Root Community Building Corporation (MRCB)—an organization dedicated to helping young people become confident leaders who are prepared for both life and work. In just over two years, MRCB has already impacted more than 2,300 youth and young adults, providing leadership development, workforce readiness, personal growth, and life skills that equip them for long-term success.
Now we're excited to partner together through the Youth Empowerment Opportunity (YEO) program alongside United Refugee Services. This summer, young people in Amarillo have been participating in programs that teach the skills employers consistently say matter most—professional communication, accountability, perseverance, goal-setting, self-awareness, and reliability.

This is why PATH exists.

When we invest in entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and community builders, the impact doesn't stop with one person. It creates new opportunities for families, strengthens neighborhoods, and builds a more resilient Texas Panhandle.

Your support makes stories like Eli's possible. Every donation helps us mentor emerging leaders, strengthen local nonprofits, support small businesses, and build partnerships that create lasting change.
If you believe in empowering people to transform communities, we'd love for you to join us as a monthly partner. You can sign up at https://givebutter.com/mi2monthly

Together, we're not just investing in programs—we're investing in people.
Together, we're Doing Good. Better.

Y’all.
Our Farm Manager Sarah celebrates another trip around the Sun today!
We are SO grateful to have our favorite rabbit breeding, backyard farming, homesteading, worship leading friend on the Square Mile crew. She’s been such a huge asset to our urban farm program and we are better because of her! So many people get fed and are able to enjoy the organic produce we grow because of her hard work. All the love and blessings to her and her great husband this coming year. ❤️

Bad choices when you’re young don’t have to mean a broken future. We loved having kids working to get out of trouble come do some community service today. These teens worked hard moving thousands of pounds of pea gravel into the tunnels…and they did it with good attitudes! Everyone deserves a chance to find redemption and to rebuild what has been broken.
