PILC is a Center for Independent Living, one of 27 centers in Texas and 500 across the nation. Centers for Independent Living promote the Independent Living philosophy, which states that people with disabilities have the right to make their own choices for their lives and to live independently in their community, not in an institution. We help people with disabilities achieve their independent living goals through peer support, independent living skills development and education.

🍂🥨 Oktoberfest at PILC! 🥨🍂
Consumers came to the PILC Office and had a great time celebrating and learning about Oktoberfest!
During the activity, consumers learned about the history of Oktoberfest, where the celebration began, and some of the traditions that have become part of the festival over the years.
Of course, we couldn’t celebrate Oktoberfest without some tasty treats! 🥨 Consumers enjoyed pretzels and butterbeer while learning and spending time together.
