“Hangxiety” is the anxious, uneasy feeling some people experience after drinking alcohol. While alcohol may feel calming at first, it can actually disrupt brain chemistry, sleep, hydration, and mood, sometimes leading to increased anxiety the next day. If you notice feelings of worry, regret, panic, or emotional overwhelm after drinking, you are not alone. Taking care of your mental health includes paying attention to how alcohol affects both your mind and body.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month, a reminder that mental health matters for everyone. Too often, men feel pressure to stay silent about stress, anxiety, depression, or emotional struggles. Reaching out for support is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. If you or someone you know is struggling, give us a call at 806-350-7601.
