Catching up and gossiping with an old friend while sewing a perfect ¼” seam… allegedly. 😩 The rumor was so good I temporarily forgot I was supposed to be making straight lines and not Harper Valley PTA detours.
Things your sewing machine repair tech dreads hearing…
😳 “I bought it on eBay.”
😬 “I watched a YouTube video and fixed it myself.”
🫣 “I took it apart, but I have a few extra screws now.”
😶 “Oil? It needs oil?”
😱 “Oh, I oiled it. I poured oil all over it.”
☠️ “It’s been 19 years since its last cleaning.”
And the grand champion…
🚨 “It started making a funny noise, so I just kept sewing.”
Yet somehow, after hearing all of that, he still stays up late doing what can be done. Hunting for parts that haven’t been made in a decade, rescuing machines from lint colonies large enough to have their own zip code, and performing mechanical miracles that would make a surgeon proud.

I’ve always loved the color red,
It’s danced through every dream I’ve had in my head.
Red roses, red barns, red ribbons that gleam,
Red has forever been part of my theme.
Red wagons and cardinals perched in a tree,
A bright red tomato picked fresh just for me.
Red lipstick, red candy, red quilts on a bed,
If given a choice, I’ll choose red instead.
So imagine my joy, my delight, my surprise,

The Pucker Up girls mastered the welt pocket. Some decided to monogram and some decided to make multiples. Overall, everyone did a great job stretching their bag making skills.

If I had a dollar for every time my husband said I was delusional, I could pay off the national debt in ones.
Today’s example? I honestly believed I could fit all of these sewing machines in my car. The car disagreed.
