Imagine being a foster parent waiting years to see these two words show up in a text message or to even hear them through a phone call… But what does it mean? It means we start moving toward finalizing your foster child’s adoption!!!
Things to do:
- Make sure your home study is up to date
- Contact a family attorney to finalize the adoption
- BE PATIENT
You must remember that there are times where things may not go as planned and courts can be unpredictable, but if it is meant to be then it will be. I am happy to answer any questions along the way and I have videos talking more about this below as well.
Story time: I met a very special boy who had spent years in foster care, never staying in one place long enough to call it home. Each meeting with a new family felt like a maybe, but never a forever.
Then he met a very special family. They didn’t just ask questions—they listened. They came back, again and again, until one day, they weren’t just visiting. They were home.
On adoption day, his heart was filled with joy and happiness because got a new last name and a forever family. That night, in his own bed, he finally let himself believe it—he was home and had found his OHANA.
Don’t think about adoption just do it and start the process. You may find that a very special someone is waiting for someone like you to come along and be their OHANA.

Kayleigh has aspirations of attending college but so desires a mother and father who can help guide her into her adult years. She also hopes to be pampered and has no specific preferences for what she seeks in a parent; she simply wants a loving family.
Aaron is a quiet, sweet, and shy individual. He has a passion for video games, movies, and Legos. He has a love for jiu-jitsu which he hopes he can one take classes to better his craft. He craves outdoor adventures and going on fishing trips with friends, but hopefully someday with a father of his own.
Kayleigh and Aaron are not particular when it comes to parents as long as they can have each other, their own rooms, and be in a home where the family and God is at the center; at the end of the day, this duo's ultimate goal is to find happiness in a home where family activities are prioritized, including family vacations, rather than just sitting around.
