Let’s talk embryo transfer to help everyone better understand this option

💎Equine Embryo Transfer (ET)💎

Embryo transfer allows a mare to produce a foal without having to carry the pregnancy herself.

Here's how it works:

1. The donor mare is bred to the stallion of choice.
2. About 7–8 days later, her uterus is gently flushed to collect the embryo (the very early pregnancy).
3. Once the embryo is recovered, there are two options:

🏹Transfer to a Recipient Mare🏹
🩵The embryo is placed into a healthy recipient (surrogate) mare that has been synchronized with the donor mare's cycle.
*🩵The recipient mare carries the pregnancy and delivers the foal.
*🩵The donor mare can often return to training, competition, or be bred again sooner.

🏹Freeze the Embryo🏹
🩵The embryo is frozen at Equine IVF and stored for future use.
*🩵When the owner is ready, the embryo can be thawed and transferred into a recipient mare.
*🩵This provides flexibility for breeding plans and can preserve genetics for future years.

In short, embryo transfer allows a mare to pass on her genetics without carrying the foal herself, while embryo freezing gives owners the option to save embryos and use them at a later date.

So excited- today I spent the day investing in me and my business Arrow P Performance Horses and Repro LLC

It was a great day with The Breeders Assistant Equine Reproductive Schools learning and growing in the area of equine repro specifically EMBRYO TRANSFER!

I plan to start with three of my mares asap and have the resulting embryos vitrified with Equine IVF for transfer into recips next season.

Update on offerings at Arrow P-

We will no longer stand outside stallions UNLESS you have your own stallion handler. I am happy to collect and process but we will no longer have a handler on staff.

With that we will no longer offer phantom training for stallions.

We have so appreciated those stallion owners that believed in and entrusted us with their boys.

We will refocus on our broodmare offerings for the 2027 season. We will continue to breed outside mares with either our stallions or shipped in semen from outside stallions.

I plan to offer Embryo Transfer for those mare owners that provide their own recip mares. More details to come.

Available palomino Hollywood Dun It granddaughter by Genuine Dun It. She is a 2004 model and still cycling.

She has a 31 follicle when checked yesterday.

She does well in a pasture with a herd.
Cannot tie her due to a previous injury but she stands for ultrasound and AI.
