No, we were not confused by the weather forecast this time.

Today, The Teaspoon was closed so our family could celebrate two very important occasions: Father’s Day and Kassiah’s birthday! 🎉🎂💙

We’re sorry if you stopped by and missed us today. We know a tea room isn’t exactly every dad’s dream Father’s Day lunch destination anyway. 😆 Last year, we had exactly one table join us for Father’s Day!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend the day making memories with our family, and we appreciate your understanding.

The good news? We’ll be back tomorrow and open during our normal business hours from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. ☕🫖🥪

This may be my favorite weather alert of all time.

“HARD FREEZE ADVISORY”
while simultaneously discussing a tropical system, heavy rainfall, coastal flooding, and tropical storm conditions. 🌴❄️🤷‍♀️

And then there’s Alvin over here at 11:00 AM…

🌦️ Weather forecast: “Stay home, build an ark, and prepare for the worst.”

☀️ Alvin: “What rain?”

I don’t know whether to grab an umbrella, a life jacket, or a winter coat. At this point, I might just make a pot of tea and wait for the weather to make up its mind. 🫖🤣

The reality is we’d rather make the decision to close and keep everyone safe than risk our staff and guests getting caught out if conditions worsen later today or overnight. Mother Nature doesn’t always follow the radar app!

For now, we’ll enjoy the sunshine, laugh at the “Hard Freeze Advisory” in June, and keep watching the forecast. 😆

After keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and the potential for severe weather in our area, we have made the decision to close tomorrow for the safety of our staff, customers, and community.

As much as we love serving our Communi-TEA, the safety of our guests, staff, and families comes first. 💛

We are hopeful to reopen on Wednesday during our normal business hours, but Mother Nature always gets the final say. We will continue to monitor conditions and post any updates here if road conditions or weather concerns change our plans.
