Feels like forever ago, when I started this business, there were certainly more than a few obstacles to overcome. But here I am, still standing, and beaming with pride at one of my favorite early memories, which I’d like to share with you! I was coaching a frightened woman through a few self defense options; sprays, personal alarms, fi****ms, etc. After her selection was made, she left confident with her choice of a firearm that matched her goals. A friend of the store (who I didn't know was watching me so intently) came up to me and expressed how impressive my coaching and how he watched her concerns melt away. Remembering keeps me grounded. Sometimes it’s easy to hide behind embarrassments, but I’m proud that they led me to where I am today, coaching women how to chose what defense feels best for them! What’s one of your embarrassing moments you’d be willing to share?
I love this coffee shop.

Mine are in the comments.
Body movement is vital to self defense to include walking backwards! See how to practice this below.
Mobility to include walking, crouching, bending, squatting, kneeling. rolling are all part of being agile enough to move with a purpose to take cover, advance and yes, even retreat.
Walking backwards is a skill that needs to be practiced. Here is a little homework.
TO DO:
Find a straight wall to practice walking backwards.
Pick an item to keep your eyes focused on (your pretend bad guy).
Using the wall for balance if needed, take 6-10 steps backwards to start.
As you get more skilled, add turning corners or tracking furniture, crouching behind items.
Comment MOONWALK if you practiced this skill!
