The hike I was on last evening ❤️ I ended the video because of a coughing fit! . It was a tad bit windy. I forgot my water bottle. The wind was making me cough! 🤣😢 I continued on! A small plane was circling overhead, adding to the drama ! Green tiny leaves were beginning to emerge on some of those winter branches! I could clearing see the stream wondering thru the forest floor, that was the drinking relief for our woodland friends!
Nearing the end of this hike, a bird caught my attention. I stood frozen watching him atop of the leafless tree. Calling out with his sweet chirp. As I stood there just watching & listening, I soon was hearing another slightly more faint chirp, responding. Trying to bend my ear to that faint response, I deducted that the faint chirp was in amongst the thicket of pines. Could not see her. As I stood frozen, I imagined this story : the bird atop the tree was ‘Mr.’ The bird amongst the pines was ‘Mrs.’! Mr. was calling out/guarding as Mrs was preparing or guarding a nest for the new babies about to enter the springtime nest! Could this be! What a delightful end to my hike, the eve of ‘spring’!

Friends today was a tough getting through kinda day! Missing momma so very much!
So, I made a pot of veggie soup. She loved making that and sharing with any and everyone❤️!
She would make her homemade bread…always got up around 4am! Made it, let it rise… pound it down, ( as she said!), let it raise some more… bake it, then call all of us to get some ‘warm from the oven’… an all day affair for her! so very good… NO! It was the best!
This is gonna taste so good!
Wish I had a slice if ‘her’ bread to go with…
