Madeline, one of my student, made Butterfly book ends for what I call the u pick project. I teach wheel throwing for cups and bowls and once in a while I will pick this project. Students are asked to propose three ideas of something they want to make. Once we choose the one they’re going to actually make I will walk him through what techniques would be best to build it. It can be a hard project because these are beginners most have never even touched Clay before I have to walk each students sometimes through different techniques, which makes it very busy and very tiring lol but I love to see the final pieces.

A Baíana doll (or Bahia doll) is a traditional, handcrafted doll originating from the Bahia state in Brazil, representing the Afro-Brazilian women (Baianas) of the region.
