Backyard Ministries

pe in Jesus to thousands of kids and adults in need every year. Currently, our ministry operates in Lewistown, Mount Union, Huntingdon, Altoona, Johnstown, Clairton, and Pittsburgh. BYM is a presence ministry: everything we do occurs right in the backyards of the neighborhoods we serve. We visit neighborhood families regularly providing them with encouragement, support, friendship, Bible study materials, resources to avoid eviction and homelessness, and special items for kids such as Keys for Kids devotionals, new winter hats and gloves, socks, and Christmas gifts. Our Backyard Club program - a weekly event for kids that includes games, Bible stories, and snacks - reaches more than 1000 children a year. Together with our church partners, BYM provides a church presence right in the backyards of more than 2000 PA families in need.
