Today we remember those affected by the terrorist attacks that occurred on 9/11/2001. NEVER FORGET!

Here is a common scenario we encounter daily. Hopefully this will help some folks understand why we must test everything before doing any service.

Customer: I want a new SSD installed in my MacBook and have it cleaned up. It's running slow.

Tech: Sure, we can do that for you! You may drop it off anytime during our business hours. We start with Diagnostics and test all Hardware and Software. Once complete, we will inform you of any problems with your machine and give you an exact cost on parts/labor.

Customer: I don't need Diagnostics. There is nothing wrong with it.

Tech: We perform Diagnostics before any repairs so we know the exact details of your system, the condition of your Hardware and find out why it's running slow. One of the key advantages of computer diagnostics is that it can identify unknown issues before they become known, major problems.

Customer: What if I don't want Diagnostics?

Tech: If we were to skip Diagnostics, and go straight to installing a new SSD and there were other problems present, we would not be aware and you would still have problems with your Computer. We do this to save both time and money for the Customer and Technician.

Customer: Hangs up.

Final thoughts: Diagnostics is a vital step in repairing your Computer properly. Often, we find the problem is something entirely different from what was expected. A prime example of this: A customer took their 2012 MacBook to BB since it was not Booting. BB determined it was a bad LogicBoard (Apple jargon for Motherboard) and would need to ship it to Kentucky (BB Service Center) for repair. The Customer brought it to us for a 2nd opinion. After we completed Diagnostics, we determined it was nothing more than a defective SATA ribbon cable that was preventing the Mac to boot. A $125 repair is much better than a $800 LogicBoard + Labor costs and a 4-6 week wait-time! If BB Diagnostic results were relied upon, we would've still had a NON BOOTABLE Mac with a new LogicBoard and the Customer would be out almost $1,000! This is why we perform Diagnostics on every machine that comes through our doors, prior to performing any service or repairs. This is to protect everyone's interests. We hope this helps clear up any confusion.

What an awesome way to celebrate 11 years in business! Today we are assembling the Sleeper Build! Intel i9 13900K CPU, ASUS Strix Z790-E MoBo, Strix RTX 4090 OC GPU, G.SKILL Trident Z5 64GB DDR5 6800 RAM, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD, Seasonic PX-1600 PSU packed into the NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower. Cooling this BEAST is the Noctua NH-D15 Chromax with ARCTIC MX-6 Thermal Compound and 7 Noctua Industrial PWM Fans. Bench tests idled at around 28° C and 88° C @ full load. Very good for air. No tweaking done in the BIOS yet. We did have an overall SP score of 112 with the latest BIOS revision! That's KS territory and would explain the great temps so far!! This will be a VR Flight Sim PC paired with the Pimax Crystal once it's released. More pics and benchmarks to follow. Stop in if you'd like us to build you one!
