What a nice surprise while I was cleaning a bed to add compost and plant onions.

384 🧅 plants planted so far. I have about another 40-60 more to plant today.. I was thinking yesterday I should just plant 1,000 onions because why not. lol… anyhow back to the root….

I even have them growing in random places in the yard 🤣 from allowing one plant a few years ago go to bloom and spread its seeds everywhere! Just like this one. It had a couple of smaller baby roots so I transplanted them in a different part of the garden.

I purchased the seeds from Baker Creek. According to them, it is a very special late variety that is known for flavor and length. Burdock is grown in traditional Japanese burdock boxes, and is known to reach 3 feet in root size!

Just google the benefits of burdock root and there are so many. I like to add it to broth.

The first round of onion planting survived the cold. Used 3 layers of agribon.

Had to order more agribon because the mice 🐁 at into my container and made holes in all the fabric.

Fabric is here and so the planting continues.
