Samson had a calling, godly parents, and strength no one could explain. He still walked into the wrong place on purpose.

Before we shake our heads at him, Hutch Matteson asks a harder question: What do we see when we look in the mirror?

Three attitudes can make a strong man weak: "I want it." "I deserve it." "I can handle it." And three others can make a weak man strong.

The Remember the Titans Scene That Helps Explain Job 09/28/2026

Ever tell your team they need to think differently before they can play differently? That's exactly what Coach Boone does in Remember the Titans — and it's exactly what God does with Job.

In this short clip, Ron Dunn connects that scene to Job 38 and what it means when your life has fallen apart and you just want answers.

400 men. One Friday. One cross.

Yesterday morning, over 400 men did something countercultural — they hit pause on their busy lives, accepted a personal invitation from a brother, and showed up. To reflect. To worship. To be still before the cross.

Our 5th annual Good Friday Special Observance was nothing short of remarkable.

Ron Dunn, Executive Director of One Thing for Men, opened the morning by walking us through one of the most powerful pieces of art ever created — Rembrandt van Rijn's famous Three Crosses etching from 1653. In it, you see everything: Christ lifted high on the cross at the moment of death, heavenly light pouring down on a huddled mass of humanity. The repentant thief bathed in glory.

The religious leaders walking away, congratulating themselves. The Roman soldiers standing by. And the women, mourning.

But the figure that stopped us cold? The centurion at the foot of the cross — the man who, in that moment, declared: "Truly, this was the Son of God."

Ron's challenge to every man in the room: Where do you put yourself in that picture today?

Then Pastor and Author Crawford Loritts delivered a powerful message about what Good Friday truly represents — and what it demands of us as followers of Jesus. Surrender. Obedience. A choice that costs something.

We worshipped alongside the Restoration Church worship band, including a stirring rendition of Sunday's Coming — a reminder that Friday's darkness is never the final word.

As C.S. Lewis once reflected, the death of Christ was not a tragedy that God scrambled to redeem — it was the very moment the Deep Magic of the universe was rewritten. Good Friday is good because of what it made possible. And Sunday is coming.

To the leadership and family of Restoration Church — thank you for opening your doors to us week after week and for making yesterday possible. You are a gift to this community of men.

To every man who came, who invited someone, who led a group here — thank you. This is what it looks like when men gather with purpose.

Sunday is coming. 🙌

The Great Commission Explained | What It Means to Truly Follow Jesus 03/16/2026

What did Jesus really mean when He said, “Go and make disciples”?

In our next Direct from the Source Bible study, Hutch Matteson walks through Luke 5 and the calling of Levi to explain The Great Commission and what it means to truly follow Jesus.

This message is both clear and challenging. It reminds us that Jesus did not call us to simply be religious or fill seats. Jesus called us to follow Him with real commitment and to help others come to know Him, too.

That movement from Jesus calling Levi to Levi bringing others to Jesus is one of the key ideas in the teaching.

When Life Squeezes You, Trust God Instead of Taking Control | Colossians 1 03/09/2026

What do you do when life squeezes you?

When stress rises and life feels uncertain, most of us instinctively want to take control. But this week’s Bible study reminds us that the better response is not control—it is deeper reliance on God.

In the first message from our new series, Great is Our God, Ron Dunn opens Colossians 1 and shares three key takeaways for anyone walking through pressure, fear, or uncertainty:

𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥: Most things in life are outside our control, but we can control how we react by pressing into God.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡: Real change happens when we slow down and meet with God in that special place.

𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩: Jesus is always with you, His everlasting arms are underneath you, and the Holy Spirit is your constant helper.

This is a timely message for anyone who needs encouragement and a reminder that God is near in the middle of life’s pressure.

Brian walks through Exodus 32, where Moses intercedes when Israel falls into corruption — and challenges us to reclaim something many men have laid down: the mantle of tear-filled intercession, even for the “wicked.” .This message hits a nerve: when culture feels like it’s burning down, will we pray for judgment… or pray for mercy that leads to repentance?

Question: Who are you believing God to redeem — even if it feels impossible?

How to Intercede Like Moses: Standing in the Gap for the Lost What does it mean to truly stand in the gap for those who have turned their backs on God? In this powerful message, Brian Porzio walks us through what it loo...
