Today, our Guest Speaker Series brought two very special familiar faces to visit us: Gary and Connie from Connie's Cafe and Dinosaur Gardens! We had the best time listening to the fascinating history behind both of these beloved spots. Gary and Connie shared the inside scoop on how they got started, all the exciting current happenings, and the amazing story of how those iconic dinosaurs came to be. As if the wonderful conversation wasn't enough, they even brought us incredibly delicious homemade cinnamon rolls to indulge in! (Let’s just say there wasn't any leftovers!)

A huge thank you to Gary and Connie for taking the time to share your morning with us. We appreciate you coming to visit, and our residents are already looking forward to an adventure out to Dinosaur Gardens in the near future!

Yesterday marked the official opening of The Turning Brook store, featuring a monthly operating schedule, and residents enthusiastically redeemed their accumulated 'Turning Brook Bucks' earned through Bingo winnings and participating in various activities. It was a fun to watch the residents claiming their prizes. As residents pondered their options, some chose to reserve their bucks until the following month, aiming for more substantial rewards requiring additional TB Bucks.

Then today, our volunteer Jim treated us to a beautiful piano performance as we sang along to most of the songs. We also enjoyed some delicious root beer floats, which paired wonderfuly with the live music.

We are excited to do all things Father's day themed this week. Today, we played a new dice game, Roll a Toolbox, which involved friendly competition and a bit of luck as participants tried to complete their toolbox sets. Afterward, we enjoyed the beautiful weather with a stroll around the pond and made a new friend - a sweet little turtle that popped its head out to check us out as we walked by.

Also UPCOMING EVENT REMINDER: Don't forget that our annual Father's Day Car Show is this Friday! Join us to see some amazing classic cars, enjoy good company, and celebrate the wonderful dads in our lives. We hope to see everyone there!

CARNIVAL WEEK UPDATE: Things are getting wild! 🎉

The fun hasn't stopped here at Turning Brook, and today might have been our most hilarious day yet!

We kicked things off with an intense Sq**rt Gun Solo Cup Showdown. Our residents went head-to-head against each other to see who could blast all four Solo cups off the table first. Let’s just say some of our residents have dangerously good aim and a couple turned their guns away from the Solo cups and onto the staff. 😂

But the absolute highlight of the day? Our makeshift Dunk Tank Challenge! Residents and staff lined up to try their luck at the beanbag toss. The stakes were high: if they hit the bullseye, they got to dump a whole bucket of water on our Life Enrichment Coordinator, Kim! Spoiler alert: Our residents did not miss. Sorry, Kim! 😂🪣 but it did provide endless entertainment.

We wrapped up a day full of pure joy and belly laughs with a outdoor dance party while Kim dried off in the sun.

We simply couldn't keep these beautiful sounds to ourselves! Turn your volume up and enjoy a little piece of the Bifocal Brass Band with us this evening!

Today was absolutely packed with smiles, laughs, and new adventures. We kicked things off with a high-stakes Ball Roll Solo Cup game, where everyone put their aim to the test trying to knock down the cups. Next, we tried our hand at juggling—and while we might not be joining the circus just yet, we sure had a blast trying!
Then, it was time to hit the road for another Travel Adventures with Kim outing! This time, we headed over to Hillman to check out the elk farm. We even practiced our best elk calling! Needless to say, the elk didn't find us amusing. After exploring the charming little town of Hillman and treating ourselves to a delicious ice cream sandwich, we headed back home.To top off a perfect day, we got to sit back and enjoy the wonderful, lively sounds of the Bifocal Brass Band!
What a beautiful day making memories together.

Our Carnival themed week has officially kicked off and it's been a wild ride so far! We started things off with a classic game of Ring Toss - because who doesn't love a good challenge? And then, we indulged in all the carnival treats our hearts desired: Deep-Fried Oreos, fluffy Cotton Candy, and perfectly gooey Caramel Apples. It's safe to say we won't be winning any awards for healthy eating this week. The grins on everyone's faces (and the sticky fingers) are all the proof we need that this week is going to be a blast. We've still got a whole week of fun ahead of us, so be sure to stay tuned and see what other antics we get up to. Hint: our Life Enrichment Coordinator might just find themselves in a bit of a splashy situation on Thursday!
