Summer Reading kickoff is today at the library!!! All Ages!! Popcorn, dinosaur egg scavenger hunt, face painting, prizes, swag bag, and more! From 9-4 while supplies last.

The Alpena County Library will be closed for an in-service day on Friday, June 19th, as the staff decorates, trains, and sets up for Saturday's Summer Reading Program Kickoff. Normal library hours resume Saturday, June 20th.

An Evening with Stephen Graham Jones

Tickets for the 2026 Author in the Fall go on sale on Monday, June 22nd, at 11 am. Join the Alpena County Library for a conversation with New York Times bestselling author Stephen Graham Jones. Jones is a Native American author of experimental fiction, horror fiction, crime fiction, and science fiction. He is the author of thirty-five or so novels and collections, and there are some novellas and comic books in there as well.
