AFDSTRONG would like to recognize Battalion Chief O’Neill and Captain Hammel, who are currently serving as instructors with the Grand Canyon Fire Department.

The Grand Canyon Fire Department is a unique combination of National Park Service personnel and a private fire department serving Grand Canyon Village. This week, they have been conducting rope rescue and confined space training with members of the department.

Tomorrow’s training will take rescue operations to another level, as crews will be going over the edge of the actual Grand Canyon on the North Rim for hands-on rope rescue evolutions.

🔥 Yesterday, Platoon B of the Allentown Fire Academy conducted live burn training at the Whitehall Township Fire Training Grounds. Crews trained in realistic fire conditions to strengthen their skills, teamwork, and preparedness. 🚒
