Community Bike Works teaches life lessons through bicycles and books. In our flagship Earn a Bike program, students team up with adult mentors for a 12-week course in bike mechanics and safety. Class topics include tires & tubes, hubs, brakes, headsets & more. Students learn additional skills including communication, teamwork, and perseverance as they see the satisfaction of turning a broken bike

Our students have loved earning bikes donated by MRC - Manufacturers Resource Center!
Since 2024, MRC has donated 80 bikes to be used in our Earn a Bike and Junior Earn a Bike programs. Students from across the have learned how to ride and maintain their bikes, while building strong relationships with adult mentors and developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. We are grateful for partnerships like this that allow our programs to thrive! Thank you, MRC!
