ReNew Productions has teamed up with Octo Design Group to create something unique - If you're a leader - check this out for your team - A few months ago Chad Parsons met Wendy Verna, the founder of Octo Design Group. A business to business marketing business located in Philadelphia.
Octo has launched an immersive training experience unlike any other! It is where attendees step inside a Seagrass REALM (Real-life Experiencial, Adaptive Learning Module) to participate in a high-energy, team-based challenge designed to test adaptability, decision-making, and resilience. Think “ESCAPE ROOM FOR BUSINESS”- only smarter, faster, and unforgettable.
The background is this...
For 28 years, Wendy had been running a full-service marketing firm Octo. In the past three, they have seen an unexpected decline in client sales that does not match up with the engagement and inquiries our marketing drives. They dug deeper and learned it is not the marketing, it’s internal. Staff lack the soft skills—critical thinking, personal responsibility, agility, and teamwork—to help these companies win. It’s a common thread that they have heard from businesses of all sizes, across the region and beyond.
Fast forward…
Octo (Octo Design Group) has launched Seagrass, a high-impact, live-fire, experiential soft-skills learning program. Now, with our help can be delivered in an 4D escape-room-style environment with props, actors, smells, lights, sounds, emotions and clues! Seagrass immerses participants in real-world business challenges under pressure, engaging them emotionally and making knowledge stick in ways traditional training just can’t.
Seagrass succeeds in team building, employee development, staff engagement, and talent assessment. It works equally well at retreats, workshops, networking events or conferences. For newcomers to the workforce, it can be especially eye-opening...helping businesses uncover talent gaps and build confident, adaptable leaders.

Thursday Throwback: Back in Fall 2019, while I was in grad school at UNCG studying puppetry, I created a puppet slam based on one of my favorite children's books, "A Day In the Life of Marlon Bundo" by John Oliver. Right before the pandemic hit, I was in the midst of rehearsals with five actors and the puppets preparing to bring this story to life as a touring show. Unfortunately, those plans were put on hold. Fast forward to March 2024, I applied to have this show performed at the Bucks/Mont Pride Festival in June under a new title, "Some Bunny to Love," featuring three actors and eight puppets.
Today this story about the celebration of love and the power of voting seems more relevant than ever and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to receive feedback on this project from "State of Play," a group dedicated to developing new work.
Tomorrow (Friday) August 30th at 7:00pm my script will be 1 of 3 being read, and I’d love to invite you to join us in the fun! For ZOOM info and link please message me. I’m excited to see this story continue to evolve.
With a LIVE voting moment that could change the entire course of the story, what will you choose? Will love prevail? Or will fear strike and rule us all?

It's been a while since my last post, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped. On a personal note, I have been navigating a difficult time, grieving the loss of my mother. This journey has been challenging in so many ways, but creativity is a gift, a gift my mother nourished with love and support, so in her honor, I have continued to create while navigating her absence. I am excited to announce some new projects and opportunities ahead...Stay tuned!
