☀️ VBS Day 1 is in the books!

What an incredible start to Illumination Station! Today, kids explored the truth that Jesus is God’s Promised Son and learned that Jesus is the Light of the World.

Forgot to register because life got busy? Thought VBS was still a few weeks away? Got the reminder from your spouse and said, “I’ll do it later”… and then forgot? 😅

Good news, you’re not too late! You can still register in person Saturday during the workday, Sunday, Monday, or anytime during VBS week.

Come join the brightest week of the summer at Illumination Station! 🌟

This year, every Wednesday night became more than a class. It became a place where friendships were built, cultures connected, and lives were encouraged.

Through our ESL (English as a Second Language) Ministry, 24 incredible volunteers welcomed 40 students representing 10 different languages from around the world. Around tables, through conversations, and in everyday moments, people found community, support, and a place to belong.

This ministry reminds us that God brings people from every nation and language together, and sometimes that begins with something as simple as learning English and sharing life together.

As we look ahead to the Fall, we would love for even more people in our community to be part of this journey.

Whether you are looking to improve your English, connect with others, or serve as a volunteer, there is a place for you here.

Thank you to every volunteer and student who made this year such a blessing. We cannot wait to see what God does next.

Thank you for your patience, prayers, and generosity as we create environments that help people hear the Gospel clearly and engage with worship every week.

Today we celebrate our Class of 2026 and all God has done in their lives.

As these graduates step into a new season, we are thankful for the memories, growth, friendships, and faith journeys that have shaped them along the way. We are praying that wherever God leads them next, they would walk closely with Him and continue to shine the light of Christ.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” this is the Lord’s declaration, “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 CSB

This Sunday will be a meaningful day for our church family as we celebrate both a season of new beginnings and a legacy of faithful service.

During our morning worship service, we will recognize and celebrate our Class of 2026 graduates as they step into a new chapter of life. We are thankful for these students and pray they would continue to follow Christ wherever God leads them. We look forward to celebrating the ways He has worked in their lives and the future He has before them.

We will also take time to celebrate and honor Jimmy and Shonda Smith for 27 years of faithful ministry and service at First Baptist Allen. As they prepare for their final Sunday with us on Sunday, May 24, we want to intentionally express our gratitude for the years they have spent loving families, investing in our community, and faithfully pointing people toward Jesus.

Following the morning worship service this Sunday (May 17), we invite our church family to join us for a special reception celebrating Jimmy, Shonda, and their family. Bring a card, note of encouragement, or gift card as we share stories, gratitude, and fellowship together as we thank them for their years of faithful service.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate God’s faithfulness across generations, honoring those being sent into new seasons and those whose faithful service has left a lasting legacy.
