RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the manufacturing of quality products efficiently, accurately, safely and on time for various product families. Utilizes production and maintenance processes and tools to manufacture optimum quality products following Good Manufacturing Practices, company policies, and regulatory standards. The Machine Operator II will master their technical understanding of equipment and process controls to ensure reaching maximum machine design output capacity, low percentage yield, low machine downtime, and will mentor and coach lower-level machine operators as needed on various maintenance and operational aspects.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated facility. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Clean, set-up, operate and monitor manufacturing equipment. Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner. Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
-Tear down and inspect equipment, completely disassemble equipment for sanitization procedures. Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
-Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
-Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product. Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
-Make adjustments to filler timing and filling using operator interface, & check material as needed. Performs automation tasks as they relate to hardware.
-Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical concerns of the equipment, maintain and improve integrity and performance of all focus line/s equipment.
-Conduct operator quality inspections as required by SOP and collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
-Provides support to lower-level operators in regard to troubleshooting and operator interface set up.
-Manage Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), ensure to operate at a level of manufacturing excellence.
-Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
-Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
-Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
-Will have working knowledge and experience with labeler operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime due to error.
-Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
-Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
-Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
-Report any safety and quality related issues to management immediately.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
