Sorry I’ve been MIA, friends!

My husband has been working hard trying to fix our road and driveway. The recent rain has made everything so bad that if you don’t want to ruin your shoes, you practically have to walk barefoot through the mud just to get to our home.

We’ve had several people get stuck, and we’ve had to pull them out with our tractor. It’s been a frustrating situation, and unfortunately it’s also slowed down my painting projects quite a bit.
We’ve had constant mud on our porch from our dog and us. It’s just been terrible.

We’re doing our best to get everything fixed up and back to normal. Thank you all for your patience, support, and for sticking around while life has us focused on muddy roads instead of paint brushes. ❤️

Hopefully I’ll be back to creating and sharing more furniture transformations very soon! 🎨

☀️ Hello Friends.

If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been painting as much lately, summer is a big reason why. The Texas heat makes it incredibly difficult for me to work outdoors, especially when temperatures are so high.

After I finished chemo, I knew something still wasn’t quite right with my body. After more testing and doctor visits, I was diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system.

One of the biggest triggers for POTS is heat. The summer temperatures can cause dizziness, fatigue, rapid heart rate, weakness, and leave me feeling completely exhausted. I’m constantly having to drink electrolytes to keep me going. I’ve already fainted a few times because I thought I could keep going.

So while I love what I do, painting outside during the summer has become much more challenging than it used to be.

I’m learning to listen to my body, give myself grace, and work when I can. Some days look different than others, and that’s okay.

Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding. It means more than you know. ❤️☀️🎨

And if you’ve noticed me slowing down a little this summer, now you know why. 😊

☔️🌧️ When I tell y’all how bad it gets at our house when it rains, THIS is what I mean. 😩

This is not okay. We’ve had so much rain, flooding, and even tornado warnings lately, and honestly, I am beyond OVER IT. Every time we think it’s drying out, another storm rolls in.

We’ve had enough! Praying for some sunshine and dry days ahead because this is getting ridiculous.

🌧️ Good morning friends!

Yall this rain just does not want to quit. We got hit again last night and this morning, and our place completely flooded all over again. At this point I feel like I’m never going to finish painting or get caught up on anything.

I’m so over the rain, the mud, and being stuck inside. Praying for sunshine and dry days soon because Texas has been wild lately. Hope everyone is safe during this time.

☀️ Summer has been so good for my heart already.

Slow mornings, staying up late for movie nights, and just slowing life down a little to spend more time with my kids.

My youngest starts school in August, so I’m really trying to enjoy every second with him before this new chapter starts. This will be the first year all my babies will be in school, and honestly I’m not ready for it. 🥹

I know some moms count down the days until summer is over, but me… I truly love having my kids home with me. These days mean everything.

Plus My daughter and youngest moved in together for the summer and they love it !

🖤 Okay yall hear me out I’m seriously thinking about painting this huge cabinet black and moving it into our dining area 👀

I’ve been stuck in this house because of all this rain and I’m getting so bored that now I’m wanting to change everything around 😂

Part of me loves the natural wood, but another part of me thinks a moody black cabinet would look SO cozy and gives it that aesthetic feel in there.

So tell me should I paint it black or leave it as is? 🤎🖤
