🎨 New MEG Feature by Russell Barajas 🎨

In this month's MEG Feature, photographer Russell Barajas shares her thoughts on letting go of any preconceived plans for images, allowing for reinterpretation, and embracing play.

"Giving ourselves permission to play can reinvigorate us and lighten our hearts just as surely as zipping down a water slide or building sandcastles at the beach," she says.

Swipe to see how Russell transforms her work from the darkroom tray using hand coloring techniques.

"My work took unexpected turns and I sometimes landed in completely unfamiliar territory."

In a recent Feature on our website, Sarah Hood Salomon observes that creative detours, happy accidents, curiosity, and a little uncertainty can lead to exciting breakthroughs.

She reminds us that sometimes the best thing an artist can do is let go of the plan and see what happens next.
