Linetec was proud to award a $500 scholarship yesterday to a deserving student through the Association of Louisiana Co-ops scholarship program, featured in Louisiana Country magazine.

The recipient, who lives on the Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. system, will be pursuing a degree in Biology/Forensic Pathology at Northwestern State University.

We are honored to be recognized for our safe digging practices and procedures with The Gold Cup of Safe Digging award from Atmos Energy. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to the safety of our workforce and the communities we serve.

This award reflects our team’s diligent efforts in protecting underground utility lines and highlights the importance of calling 811 before any digging project, no matter the size.

With hurricane season fast approaching, it's crucial to know how to safely operate your generator.

✅ Use a transfer switch — it prevents deadly backfeed and should always be installed by a licensed electrician.
🚫 Never plug a generator into a wall outlet — it’s illegal in many places and extremely dangerous.
🔌 Plug appliances directly into the generator using heavy-duty cords unless your system is professionally connected.
👷‍♂️ Protect utility crews — unsafe generator use can seriously injure workers trying to restore your power.
