On June 27, City of Alexandria voters will decide on two school funding renewals for District 62 schools.

✅ These are renewals, not new taxes.

Both keep current funding in place to support building maintenance, classroom and school technology, instructional supplies, and day-to-day facility needs for the 18 schools this taxing district serves.

We’ve had some questions about our uniform policy as some parents are already shopping for back-to-school. Here are our policies/acceptable colors. Please take a few minutes to read over the graphic carefully so that you and your student are informed about expectations.

We know some of you are itching to start shopping for school supplies! Here are our lists for PreK through Fifth Grade. These lists DO NOT include our classes for differently-abled students. We will publish those lists as we receive them.

A new chapter in our Cherokee story! This year, we welcome Mrs. Spurgeon as our new principal and Mrs. Nicholson as our new assistant principal! The Rapides Parish Library's Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 1st, and we couldn't be more excited for our students to dive in!
Whether your child is just starting to sound out words or already working on chapter books, summer reading is one of the best ways to keep minds sharp and prevent the "summer slide." Plus, the library offers great prizes! 🏆
