Cheerfully Offensive

This just keeps getting better and better

BREAKING: HOLY SMOKES! Ed Sheeran's band drops out of his tour in protest after Macklemore was removed for voicing support for the Palestinians.

The bottom just fell out of this fiasco...

"We have made the decision to depart as Ed Sheeran’s band on the remaining US Loop tour, following the silencing of Macklemore by zionist lobbies," Irish folk group Beoga wrote on Instagram.

"We are a traditional Irish band who never saw ourselves playing in stadiums of that size and that opportunity is not lost on us," they added. "We have been friends with Ed for over 10 years now and will continue to be. We believe in dialogue as a means of progressing the plight of the Palestinian people."

Beoga co-wrote Sheeran's smash hit songs "Galway Girl" and "Nancy Mulligan." While they are a distinct band separate from Ed Sheeran as an artist, they have been his house band for the 2026 LOOP tour.

In other words, their decision to drop out is much worse for Sheeran than simply losing an opening act. This is the band that has been taking the stage to play the instrumentation for a substantial portion of Ed's setlist.

Macklemore was removed from the tour for calling out the Israeli genocide in Gaza and shouting "Free Palestine" on stage. Zionists, led by New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, banded together and refused to let him perform at the venues they control. Rather than stand with Macklemore, Sheeran chose to remain "neutral."

In addition to Beoga, Irish singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe has dropped out as Sheeran's opening act for the tour in support of Macklemore and Palestine, citing the Irish people's own struggle against "genocide, forced famine and violent occupation."

At this point, we wouldn't be surprised if calls for a boycott spread and Sheeran cancels the remaining shows altogether.

Please like and share if you stand with Macklemore and Palestine!
