Founded in 1883, the historic B. Ruppe Drugstore has long been a place of healing in Barelas. After thoughtfully restoring the building, Homewise is proud to have sold the property to its longtime tenant, Solamente Holistic Health — ensuring this culturally significant space remains rooted in community care.

This project reflects our commitment to making commercial investments with the intention of returning them to the community, supporting local entrepreneurs, and preserving the cultural legacy of Albuquerque’s neighborhoods.

We’re honored to see this next chapter continue the spirit of healing that has defined B. Ruppe Drugstore for generations.

Photos of your home, neighborhood streets, local businesses or community events in th neighborhood? If so, share them with the on Sunday, February 22nd from 2pm-4pm in the Salon Ortega. They will be scanned on site and returned back to you and photos will digitally added to the NHCC’s Barelas Community Archive. Please share this post with anyone you know who’s from Barelas!
